Forum Title: Problems with Sisal on stairs? slippery
A couple years ago I received info on real sisal becoming slippery on stairs after it had been down a couple of years. The manufacture of the sisal didn't recommend install it on stairs, now I can't remember who it was. I looking for any other opinions or info regarding this. Regards, Frank

Nate would be familiar with your situation and maybe Daris, I don't know where they are right now, maybe an IICRC cleaning technician certified for the material if it can be corrected by cleaning or adding a chemical to change the resistance.

I have put real sisal on staeps many of time's with no issues with them being slippery. True sisal comes from the leaves of the agavesisal plant and is put on steps all the time. You have many other natural fibers out there that can have the look of a sisal and some people with call them a sisal. You have wool, jute, Mountain grass, seagrass, coir and even leather. If you can, could you make sure of the fiber and then we could most likely help you better.
